An idea for next year

Post by JohnnyMcPiperson » Sun Dec 16, 2018 7:33 pm

Ok so I’m gonna try and do this next year. I want to do a tobacco advent calendar. Each day you’d get a small sample of tobacco, enough for a bowl or so. I’d charge a fair price, take orders and mail them out mid November... This needs to happen, I’m gonna plan this for next year, would you guys be interested?

Cool.

Hello FredS
It sounded better when the voices in my head were saying it.

This is too cool. I have to be a part of this. An encouraging excuse to prayerfully enjoy a bowl every day, in preparation for Christ's coming!

First Sunday of Advent is Dec 1, so 25 bowls. Equivalent to about one tin.

The added value of preparing the calendar kits and shipping.... 2 to 4 times the cost of tobacco. So "fair price" would be minimum $50, if you do this as a goodwill project. (You'd come out a little ahead on cash, but not enough to cover your time.)
=========================================

This is akin to a project I lead a few years ago.

I bought a tub of each of the Mid-Town series, parted them out, and sent samples to the guys who chipped in. It was fun.

If you need help, a guy could contribute some cash or tobacco....

I hope you do it.

Yea I did a mailout a while back, it was fun! This would be even better though, The bags would only be numbered and I’d reveal what each number is each day so it would be a surprise like a true advent calendar. I had one like this with beer that a buddy created one year, it was awesome fun. Already hatching the plan!

No unsmoked pipes. Gents, any one of us could be dead tomorrow. Smoke em if you've got em.

Because Advent is a time of penance and fasting? :lol:

Seriously, Johnny, I do think it is a good idea and people would buy them.
I am also of the opinion that the Jesuits should be suppressed.

Rejoice, then. There is much good in the world.
