Good baccy for a large bowl

Post by Fainn » Wed Dec 19, 2018 8:07 pm

I have a general cob and the bowl is huge. I like 10 Russians and VAs, but not sure how VAs will do in a cob.

The Sam Gawith & Gawith Hoggarth Virginia Flakes really shine in a large wide bowl. PM me your mailing address and I'll send you some Sam Gawith Mayor's Chocolate (Virginia) Flake that tastes, to me, like a Chocolate milkshake.

I think VAs work well with the sweet aroma of burning cob.

And I'm not entirely kidding.

I’m not kidding at all. Take Goose up on his offer. Besides being a gentleman, Goose knows what he’s talking about and is really generous. I’ve benefited from his samplers in the past.

Virginia Flake in a cob is a delight. I’m smoking Bob’s Chocolate in a Cob right now. Delightful!

Thanks Goose by I tried the mayors flake awhile back and didn't like it. Hugo has the right idea with Bob's chocolate flake I think.

I have several new cobs gathering dust. I should break one out and try this.

Carter Hall or one’s favorite OTC Burley does well in large pipes.

My favorite in large bowls is the VA I’m ready for that day.

Special K is not so great here.

Yogurt is right out.

I like large bowls for aromatics. Large diameter, shallow depth, "pot" types work really well for me.

C&D Redburn does wonderful in a large bowl. I have a healthy sized paneled billiard that is wonderful with this blend.
