I have some fantasy books in varying degrees of completion. Currently reading Lead by Tripp (which is an echo of Dangerous Calling) and just started Embodied by Sprinkle.

There’s a lot going on in Jeremiah.

I’ve listened to a few podcast interviews with Rod about this book. I hadn’t been a follower of his writing previously, but did enjoy what I heard. From the reviews I read, it reads more as a catalog of stories from Christians facing persecution in former Soviet states than any kind of how to. Makes sense given that he is coming from the orthodox tradition where that kind of guidance would be more personal/come from your spiritual father. Curious how you’re finding it. It’s on my long list.

Yeah, that matches my experience. I wasn't familiar with him until hearing him on a few podcasts. Al Mohler did an hourlong interview with him on his show Thinking In Public, and highly recommended the book. Also, one of the Elders at my (PCA) church said it was really good & recommended it to me a couple weeks ago.

Just started it yesterday and I got to page 34, which puts me halfway through the 2nd chapter. So far I'm really liking it.

Link to a few passages I highlighted while reading last night: http://bit.ly/LiveNotByLies

That's been on my TBR for 25 years. Not exaggerating. I'll get around to it one day. Maybe.

I'm going to use a Psaki-ism and ask you to circle back and tell us your thoughts about it later
