What Are You Listening To?
Fogive me if there is already one of these threads here, but if there is I didn't find it.
As for me, this week it has been non-stop:
Queensryche's "Operation: Mindcrime II"
I've been waiting 18 years for them to follow up on the original.

Brian Eno - Music for Airports.
I can't help it...i'm addicted to his ambient ramblilngs.
oh, and as always, Dave Matthews Band - Stand Up. Out of my hands has to be one of my favorite songs.

Dad always thought laughter was the best medicine, which I guess is why several of us died of tuberculosis.

The Postal Service "Give Up"
Matisyahu "Youth"
The Choir "O How The Mighty Have Fallen"
Sarah McLachlan "Bloom: Remix Album"
Celldweller "Celldweller"
EmmyLou Harris "Wrecking Ball"
... these are the primary ones in rotation now
swalmi, munkey got me hooked on Eno's "Another Day on Earth" a while back ... good stuff ... you can definitely hear how much of his vision ended up being U2's "signature sound"
scojo, had no idea Queensryche did a follow-up ... i'm a go check it out ... NOW!

you mean Scott Albert/Klay Scott/Klayton/Celldweller/etc.? ...ScoJo wrote:Another Celldweller fan! Cool!

I have been a fan of Klay's since the Circle of Dust days.

I loved a lot of the CoD stuff, got hooked on him when the remixed self-titled project came out ... really love Disengage, too, but none of the older stuff compares to the texture and depth of the Celldweller release ...
guess that's what you get when you spend ten years making an album
on a side note, early in my marriage, i got home late one night after the missus had already gone to bed ... went into the bathroom and there, arranged in a rough circle were three little rubber duckies we used for decorations ... on a post-it note in the middle of them, the punch line was scribbled ... we still often jokingly refer to CoD as "Circle of Ducks"

I love Circle of Dust. Unfortunately I've only heard a couple of cuts from Celldweller. I loved what I heard though.kendrck wrote:you mean Scott Albert/Klay Scott/Klayton/Celldweller/etc.? ...ScoJo wrote:Another Celldweller fan! Cool!

I have been a fan of Klay's since the Circle of Dust days.... he truly is a talent ... whiny and in continual identity crisis, but talented, nonetheless

Both great discs, although, Matisyahu's live at Stubbs was a hard act to follow, imo.kendrck wrote:The Postal Service "Give Up"

I've been listening to quite a lot of Thievery Corp., Jonatha Brooke, Mute Math, Beck, Amos Lee, Imogen Heap, Death Cab..., Frou Frou, and Jack Johnson to name a few. With nothing of the drone of a lathe or sanding motor in the background, the shop needs some life that music can offer.
