It’s been a wet winter here in So Cal. It snowed today all the way down to 1500 feet. That means the hills that I can see from my balcony are covered in snow tonight. The distant mountains I can see from my balcony have had lots of snow most of the winter.

Despite all the moisture this winter, we are still experiencing drought conditions though. Apparently, we need a couple more years like this one, in a row, to get out of this drought.

These are the distant snow capped mountains from a few weeks ago:

I measured over 4 inches of rain inside an old 12 x 18-inch plastic tube in the back of my truck. Two 33 gallon "Brute" garbage barrels at the drip line of the roof are nearly full. I have NEVER seen this before.

Open the link then click on "total precip." In and about Phx & Casa Grand, 8 - 10 inches of rain

After the rain last night we have a high of only 50f today. But temps get ratcheted up 5 degrees per day until next Tuesday when it will be 70f. 74 next Thursday. Spring will have arrived in southern Arizona

We got around 4’ of snow from this storm, a lot more than the ski area.
I’ve been blowing snow all day.

Local weather guy who lives at about the same elevation reports 40” from this storm and 80” since Valentines Day.
After a relatively slow start, we’re well above average snow water content for this time of year:

As of 6:45 am here in Arizona's southern desert, it was clear, calm and 34 f. Way below average but there is a warming trend forthwith.

20 degrees and partly cloudy, for now. We are expecting a drop in temperatures and more snow over the next few days.

Most snowbirds here wish they were where you are. They like to wear shorts & t-shirts but it has been just too darn cold this winter for that. Yet, still, they persist.

47F and raining here. The rain is predicted to ease up a little in 15 or 20 years I think. Theresa's family is from Arizona, mostly in Prescott but she has a brother in Safford. Her nephew-in-law out in Prescott posted a photo of his car completely buried in snow with the caption, "Come to Arizona. It's a dry heat". Beautiful country out your way.

This afternoon I mowed the weeds and washed the car---it was a wee too warm for a sweatshirt.
Off to Walmart to look at vegetable plants for the garden :chili: :chili: :chili:

About 6 inches of snow last night, but clear sky has it melting and compressing fast.

Sub-zero temps but clear skies for now. Our neighbor used his tractor and cleared out some snow before the next storm hits.
