Pu'erh Tea

First Blush - The tin called for one pressed cake for 6 oz of water, but I used 8 oz. It also calls for a water temp of 190-210 for 2-5 minutes steeping. Our coffee service guy at works says the coffee maker's hot water tap is set around 190, so I went with that for the full 5 minutes. The aroma is mild, somewhere between fish bait and barn floor. The smell was off-putting and I almost poured it out without tasting. It brewed very dark, which I liked. The flavor is deep and full, but smooth which I also liked. I read of people saying it is bitter, but I really had to look for it to find any bitterness and most if that showed up near the end of the cup as it cooled down. I don't know how to describe the flavor otherwise, except to say that it tastes as I would imagine a bale of hay tasting based on its smell. The word earthy gets thrown around a lot describing pu'erh, so I guess that makes sense.

Bottom Line - It stinks, but I like and will keep drinking it.

I was wrong. This stuff smells like low-tide at the wharf. I can't get past it. It smells great dry in the tin and tastes good, but about gags me getting it to my lips. It will be in the box pass for anyone who wants it.

If any Veterans who are coffee drinkers, would like to support a small Co. run exclusively by all VETERANS. Check out Black Rifle Coffee. I'm waiting for my first trial bag to arrive.

And for tea: DELICIOUS, as MHO! Herbal Montana Tea and Spjice Trading, LLC, The two I've enjoyed: WILD WEST with Cinnamon, Licorice Root, Orange Peel, Papaya Leaf, Peppermint, Raspberry Leaf, Wild Cherry Bark, Chicory, Cloves, Sarsaparilla, Fennel Extract Blend.

And EVENING IN MISSOULA, with chamomile, rosehips, lemon grass, papauya leaf, peppermint, black-berry leaf, raspberry leaf, spearmint, lemon peel, alfalfa, while cherry bark, wintergreen, star anise, vanilla, lavender, red clover, stevia leaf

Both are caffeine Free. www.montanatea.com PHONE: 406-721-8082.

No I do not get any commission for sales! I find these two teas TOP SHELF in delicious flavor. Sent to me as a love gift from a granddaughter and her husband.
Soli Deo Gloria!

Coffee: A big spoonful of Swiss Miss cocoa mix in a large mug of Faculty Lounge Coffee Urn Deluxe High-Test.

Tea: Trader Joe's Earl Grey with sugar and half-and-half, because.

Going back for more tea now.

Bustlo was my absolute favorite when I was drinking coffee. When I pass a can in the store, it still makes me wistful.

The teachers at my kids school usually have some pretty good tea that I'll steal when I pick up the children. Today, I tried Rooibois.

I now know what the Heart of Gold was serving to Arthur Dent that he hated so much. Rooibois can only be categorized as a tea-like substance.
