With my father passing, I've been thrown back to the early 80s and what was on HBO at that time.

I shared "Running Brave" -- a few key scenes-- with my wife and then last night we watched "If you could see what I hear" with Marc Singer (story of Tom Sullivan).

Sergeant York (1941, Gary Cooper). Great film. My kids (10 & 7) enjoyed it too!

I tend to find the doctrinal books often more helpful in devotion than the devotional books.... I believe that many who find that "nothing happens" when they sit down, or kneel down, to a book of devotion, would find that the heart sings unbidden while they are working their way through a rough bit of theology with a pipe in their teeth and a pencil in their hand.

I'm watching A Fistfull of Dollars right now for the umpteenth time. I can't afford a real Colt Army but I have a Ruger Vaquero .45 Colt nearby in case the Rojos come busting in my house. I just wish my Toscano Antiquas had been delivered today. Oh well.

Rambo: Last Blood

Great end to the Rambo franchise. Unadulterated by political correctness, this movie contained everything you expect from a Rambo sequel: cool knives, marginal acting, and lots of gratuitous violence.

He just wanted to come home...

Good times.

I watched The Rock again for the first time in a long time. Not a bad movie (i.e. it's alright to watch, not that it's Oscar material), but Nicolas Cage just bugs me.
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are not.
