Just got home from school or I'd have answered sooner. We have another week of break, but there's always some work to do before classes begin.

Well, I suddenly became 1/2" shorter on one side when they put the rod in my femur . . .
Then there's the disc shrinkage from age.

For most of my adult life I was exactly 6' tall.
Now, more like 5' 11 1/2", with a lift on my left boot.

If you want to read letters and manuscripts, or just soak up Inklings vibes, head to the Marian E. Wade Center on the Wheaton campus.

You don't have to be a known scholar or have a fellowship. It's open to the public.

I don't have a bucket list, but if I did, that'd be on it. I think Skip's been there.

2007 with J-B and AlwaysSomewhereFun. I was thinking Munkey was there, too, but maybe we ran into him at the show that year. I only have photographic evidence of the first two.

Happy birthday, Tollers!

If things work out this evening, I'll be toasting to the Professor at 9pm with the Tolkien Society of KC. Might even play some hobbit songs.

If that doesn't work I'll just drink at home.
