Just found a dead small scorpion in my kitchen near the fridge. Was there a battle to the death? Where did the victor go?

Best thing to keep them out of the house is to make sure you have no over hanging tree limbs or shrubs up close to the house.

Best way to hunt them is in the dark using a UV lamp. The glow quit brightly making them easy to find.

C. vittatus (the bark scorpion) are actually quit common and popular in the pet trade. Their venom is not medically significant unless you have allergies to fire ants (and bee venom I think they found some cross reactivity with bee venom) Otherwise sting is just painful

A bonus is they will keep the roach population in the house down.

It's all in the tools. I heard stuff at 22 seconds on the laptop speakers and then plugged into the external-- boom sound right away.

Maybe my loud music did kill the scorpion. Huh.

I'm the victor!

On my way to turning off lights-- barefoot when I toss a piece of trash in the can and notice a mean looking dude about 3 inches long walking across my kitchen floor...

I snagged the mallet (see picture on page 1) that's not seen too much action since last year.

It reared it's ugly rear and shrunk down as it gave me the evil eye....

Well, the score had been in my favor until today.

Getting ready for church and putting on my shoes after coming home from a week away. Same shoes I wore last night so the bugger must have set up camp last night. In went my foot-- boom went the sting. I think the stinger came out into my sock as I pulled my foot out, cried out and took the sock off.

We found the sucker. He was about 3 inches long and on the side of my shoe as we checked. We got him out of the shoe and he was smashed appropriately. Plans for church are now off.

I've washed in cold water and soap. Have applied ice to the toe-- little toe next to the smallest one. And I've taken a Benadryl.

I am slightly wigged out as the toe is throbbing.

It feels like a Chinese numbing pepper that my toe ate.

Sorry about that. How do you suppose such a large 3 inch one got into your house?
