A couple quick pics at the half way point:
We actually started in the upper left corner of the first pick, in the corner where the refrigerator is now temporarily sitting. I think we spent about as much time on that little corner as we did on half the rest! I was working solo on Sunday and got quite a bit farther, but I don't have any current pics.

that is great Gabriel, I hate doing flooring. We have to do about 2,000 sq ft of white oak at the job I am supervising on, but I won't have to bend over once

That's some wisdom right there. This stuff is kicking my proverbial behind.

Oh snap. I'm going to have to climb through the window above the sink to get to the coffee pot.

I did think to grab the coffee pot. I did not, however, think to move the microwave... Nikki left me a couple pots of soup but I doubt it will be quite as good cold...

Nice. Your patience will be rewarded.
==================
I just talked with a mason who is going to cut a hole in my foundation so I can put in an egress window. I'm going to start a basement remodel. Woohoo!!!!
I partly have you to thank for giving me the impetus.

You can go to the Starbucks next door, or the one across the street.

Ha! Not in this town.
Although I hear you, Starbucks stores to seem to reproduce like rabbits.

Betcha have a Casey's though - every midwest town has a Casey's. Just as good at half the price. Most of the ones around here have even been upgraded to include cappuccino machines if you go for the fru-fru drinks.

Of COURSE we have a Casey's. Where else would the farmer's go to hang out in the morning? I might just have to walk up there (Nikki has the car) for a pizza or something for dinner... hm.

What am I working on? Rotten molars....that's what I'm working on. Think I could cut a hole in that little mask thingie just wide enough for a pipe stem? It would certainly make this afternoon more enjoyable...

For anyone looking to finish hardwood floors in the future, this came very highly recommended by a guy I work with:
http://www.minwax.com/wood-products/har ... for-floors
I can't recommend it. Drying time has been MUCH longer than advertised and so far the smoothness factor leaves a lot to be desired. We'll see how the next few coats go. Assuming I'll ever be able to do them.

That does sound gross.

Holy cow! The mason showed up this morning and started and I didn't even have a permit yet. A quick trip to the Inspector's Office and I'm good. Dust is everywhere!
I'll take the rest of this week and work out the details for framing, electrical, and hvac. Hopefully I can make the bulk of my material purchases on Saturday and maybe even get started framing the walls.
Photos will follow.

Work hours severely cut until Easter (though this could be reevaluated), so Youtube 24/7.

My neighbor gifted me with a 8 oz or so of some fast drying poly from his cabinet shop. It dries fast, but does not give a good finish. It is milky looking in the can; it has a blueish tint as it goes on, especially if it gets too thick. I used it to finish the Flyin' Ginny Pipe Rack, but I was not satisfied.

New egress window and masonry window well is in.
I've spent the evenings caulking and installing foam insulation. Now I'm drilling into the concrete, hard concrete, to attach furring strips.
