I took the afternoon off to escape frustration at work only to find it here while trying to make a Christmas tree shelf. But there is sawdust at least.

Lots of pics, sorry. I've been having fun with this. For Christmas gifts I decided to let each of my girls build a bird house to be given to their grandparents. Additionally, I decided to take photos along to the way and will included a small photo album of the process with each one.

Next up, the kids will paint them tailoring each one to the grandparent they will be given to.

What am I working on? Putting up the Christmas lights! I'm moving very slow these days so I need a head start.
Today I put rat bait under the house to discourage the critters from chowing down on the pex fittings. I took the box of Christmas lights out of the garage, then I wrote and submitted a book review (Andrew Jackson and the Miracle of New Orleans)
This evening I picked up a rotisserie chicken, wide egg noodles, carrots, celery and chicken broth to make some chicken noodle soup.

Put up some cable and hung four strings of string lights with LED Edison-look bulbs over the courtyard yesterday. Today I took down the puny porch light out there and put in an outlet with weatherproof box to plug the lights in to so we can run them off the switch. Love the look.

Installed blinds and valances on the two windows in the master BR. Tomorrow I'll replace all the outlets, switches and covers and put the bed back together. What started out as a simple repainting of the ceiling has grown and taken a month. One day I'll learn to stick to the plan.

I cleared out the evac tank to prep for the testing of the sand pump.

I have obviously miscalculated most incorrectly as the first & basic vacuum check had to be coaxed into theoretical pass.

This is most annoying as I gathered the first batch of test sand this afternoon. I think it is slightly too fine however, if we have limp wristed pump action it might be what I'm looking for.

A friend asked me to make a small ammo box for him to give to his son for Christmas. It is modeled after the one his own father gave him when he was a kid.

Hello FredS
Looks kinda rough. Maybe you could outsource the sanding to that guy in Texas.

Waiting on a new wire harness for the Honda Rancher, new timer for the dishwasher, a brake booster for my GMC truck, and if I don't hear from the local Polaris dealer in the next week or so I'm going to go get it back and work on it myself, even it it IS under warranty.
