A Bang energy drink. I swore them off a long time ago, but today I just can't seem to get going.

Merlot and diet Sprite half and half.
That sounds terrible, Stanley.
It's good to me. Kind of a wine spritzer. I was always a beer drinker but this has low carbs and I need to watch my blood glucose level. The wine is Franzia in a box vintage 2018.

But Diet Sprite instead of club soda? I just can’t imagine red wine and artificial sweetener being compatible flavors.

To make matters worse, it's not even real diet Sprite. It's generic Food Lion diet Sprite. Only .77 a liter, the real thing is 2.33. What can I say? I'm a heathen but in my defense at least I'm not mixing it with MD 2020 or Boones Farm.

Today I was looking for something new to try. A young man ask me for a recommendation for his first whiskey. He turned 21 today. I looked over the choices, and told him what I liked. They had Elijah Craig, Pendleton, Bullet Rye, Johnny Walker, Makers Mark and some others. He settled on Bullet Rye. I told him to not overdo it. Hopefully I didn’t point him in the wrong direction.

I forgot to add that I settled on Douhans Irish Whiskey and I'm trying it now.

Last night, Bloody Marys. I polished off the last of a big bottle of Costco French Vodka (relabeled Gray Goose) In the process.
Tonight, Fetzer Merlot

Had a Negroni for the first and last time yesterday. I continue to believe gin is disgusting.
