I need to do some shaping and trimming of the scraggly hairs.

Anyone here use a conditioner? I use Amish Beard Balm to soften and get some control over the hairs.

I used to use Blue Beards shampoo and their conditioner as well. Now I'm broke so I just use my regular shampoo and a basic skin lotion for conditioner.

Ha, actually no; it's just a really slow day at work. I live in the very uncool part of Seattle , and live in the hippest part. Every time I go to work, I am reminded of how uncool I am. If I were cool, I'd look like this guy:

My kids freak when I shave my whole face. I've had them cry and tell me that I'm not their daddy.
When my daughter was little and I shaved mine off, I had her watch just to avoid that. Something similar happened to me when I was young and I can/could vividly recall the feelings of uncertainty, so I didn't want that to happen to her. When I shave this one off, my son will watch as he's at that age where it may be scary if he didn't know what happened.

I use my wife's hair conditioner (whatever's on sale) in the shower and Mr. Natty Frank's Beard Elixir oil after a shower. It's not necessarily the best routine and I'm up for trying something else, but it beats no treatment at all.

It may not work in the future, but by then this'll be a zombie thread.

I wasn't sure if this belonged in the beard, hat, or bow tie thread.

I try and keep it pretty kept due to work. All natural, I don't use any conditioner or beard oils. However, maybe I should start.

I remember not having gray in my beard... I think.

Looks good, Jonno.

Don't sweat the gray, Jim. I notice your gray is mostly on your chin. I have a similar condition.

I have determined it is from those modern "whitening" toothpastes. When you dry your face after brushing your teeth, the residue from the chemicals in the whitening toothpaste takes the color out of your beard.

Looks like you may be using "whitening" toothpaste like The Judge spoke of.
