I had dreams in which I journeyed to hell to convince myself of its reality, and see if I could liberate others who were bound there from their illusions.

In my dreams, I learned that there were two sides of hell - one abyss of fire, where the wicked dancers are sent to suffer an eternity of madness and disillusion, and one hell of ice, where the wicked warriors are sent to suffer an eternity of violence and confinement...

I learned that if one can tell black from white, or dark from light (and even a creature can), then one can discern the road to heaven from the road to hell, and no excuse ultimately exists, sans pleas for mercy.

I learned also that the ways to hell are to stare directly into the abyss, seeking the knowledge of evil - and have it stare back into them, to paraphrase Nietzsche. Or to stare directly into the light, seeking the knowledge of good, and be blighted and cast down like Lucifer.

I may have had impure thoughts about a female employee of the local IGA. But she is single I believe.

Matthew 5:29-30 The Message (MSG)

29-30 “Let’s not pretend this is easier than it really is. If you want to live a morally pure life, here’s what you have to do: You have to blind your right eye the moment you catch it in a lustful leer. You have to choose to live one-eyed or else be dumped on a moral trash pile. And you have to chop off your right hand the moment you notice it raised threateningly. Better a bloody stump than your entire being discarded for good in the dump.“

Me, too. I dated an IGA girl once.

Once.

So, what were the thoughts you had, exactly?

On a scale of 1-10, how would you rank the level of impurity of your thoughts - with 1 being a boy first discovering that girls don't have cooties, or 10 being one of the Marquis de Sade's novels?

I've always been interested in the theology and psychological factors behind impure thoughts and desires, and how to discern impurities from impurities in the world at large, so I've devoted some time to attempting to understand these things. (I recall a quote that in order to know virtue, one must have a taste of vice to contrast it with).
