Congratulations! My wife and I just couldn't run through this cold winter so we're practically untrained at this point. We walked 2 miles yesterday. Try to work up to running a mile in a week or two.

In general I don't mind running in cold weather. As long as I'm dressed for it I prefer it to a steamy hot day... that said we joined a gym a couple years ago that allows us to hit the treadmill and avoid extreme weather days.

Running in warm weather isn't so bad either.

All three of my kids learned to crawl on the grass at Ala Moana Beach Park. I know that run well.

Sweet. I tried running the other direction a couple days before. Too many people.

Woke up ready to finish my three runs in a week goal but as soon as I put my right foot on the floor shooting pain in my knee. Hoping it was because I was wearing boots yesterday.

1.6 miles on the road yesterday evening. Done at an embarrassingly slow pace. My calves are sore.

1.6 mile jog and .75 mile walk this morning on the road. It's getting better. I find it much easier to run while fasted.

5 on the treadmill yesterday. Think I'm skipping the 10 miler next week. Sad/fat face.

Scratch that. Gonna try the 10 miler tomorrow with 2-dot. We decided we'll just walk run if we have to. Time to carb load.

How did it go?

I'm having a hard time getting back into the swing. I can't seem to go more than 2 miles at a time at a super slow pace.

In other news, I carb loaded all day yesterday. ALL DAY!!!! Feeling sick now.

it turned out great - way better than I expected. 2-dot ran with me whole way, even when I got tired. Didn't PR, but wasn't close to the slowest I've done either. My 5th run of this race in the 7 years they've done it. So glad I did it again.

Consistently in the 3.2 mile (5k) range right now with increasingly faster times. I would like to up that to 4-5 miles in the next few weeks.

Last jog was a slow one yesterday morning on the road with my wife. Felt good.

1/2 Marathon with 3-dot yesterday. Kinda hot, very humid. Nice hilly course though Virginia wine country.

Nice, JB. How are your knees and feet feeling?

I've come to the conclusion that I'm good in the 2-4 mile range. I'm not going to press much more than that. If I want some intensity, I will work on faster time and do intervals. A jogging session going more than, say, 1/2 hour is just not enjoyable for me.

Oh, and a quick .75 mile walk and 1.6 mile jog on the road with my wife this morning before work.
