I don't know squat about brandy. But this bottle was only 9 bucks so I decided to try it. Not sure what good brandy taste like, but I'm enjoying this just fine.

This is a review of it I found and I think it's pretty spot on. It really taste like a subdued bourbon. Which for me is working.
Tasting Notes

"Tasting this blind, you'd be hard pressed to guess you were drinking a brandy. The aromas are so strongly associated with bourbon: vanilla, maple, and char smoke. Sweet on the tip of your tongue with caramel and maple, the body of the product is on the thin side and finishes bittersweet. The thing is, the product itself isn't horrible; it's not great, but it's drinkable. The problem is, it doesn't taste like the product of fruit, let alone grapes."

I agree fully with Jim's reply here. Same with wine or anything really! If "Mr. Snooty" only buys and drinks $90.00 bottles of whatever, fine! You can use your $80.00 to buy yourself a good tool or something! :)

The last couple of years have been pretty tough. I came home tonight a little overwhelmed by it all feeling like I can't catch a break. Then I walked into the kitchen and found this sitting on the counter:

Image

My daughter and her husband had recieved it and re-gifted it to me. I used to think them not liking scotch was a character flaw, but I've changed my position on that.

I think we've turned a corner.

Corner indeed. That's a pretty nice gift.

If you are ever in Spain, Spanish brandy and Sherry are both amazing! Make sure it comes from Jerez!
