With some Brebbia Latakia Flake No. 9 in a Teipen Dublin.

The pepper finish is smoothed out and the Rye is sweeter and smoother than their Bourbon. I like it.

I have not tried Rebel Yell. They have it at Trader Joe's for 20 bucks. I have not seen it anywhere else out here.

This was on sale at Trader Joe's at a very good price point, less than $30. So I gave it a try. This is exceptional. But I will not pay full price for it.

Very smooth, great texture, very nice long nutty & pepper finish.

If any of you Bourbon guys are Burley pipers, how is that pairing? I bet it's pretty nice.

A measuring cup of Splenda (sugar in other's cases I'm sure). It's a variant of the standard Old Fashioned Recipe.

I think there might be some multiplication required there, rather than simple addition, because:

[thumbnail]https://sp.yimg.com/ib/th?id=HN.6080551 ... d=15.1&P=0[/thumbnail] = [thumbnail]https://sp.yimg.com/ib/th?id=HN.6079929 ... d=15.1&P=0[/thumbnail]

thus implying that the remaining three arguments have a net sum of zero.

Well, we'd set your [thumbnail]https://sp.yimg.com/ib/th?id=HN.6079929 ... d=15.1&P=0[/thumbnail] as sub 0, whereas mine would be sub One (that next generation).

You should really try one of these.

Soon...

Hmmmmmmm. When's the Whiskey party?

Mid- next month, my house. 2nd tasting will focus on Small Batch and or Single Barel whiskey from anywhere. I'll supply 2 American offerings, 1 Rye and 1 Bourbon. Everyone else will bring one of their own. We'll chat so there are no duplicate offerings.

Found Templeton Rye, but the price point was not doable for me. I'll keep my eyes open for a sale. I have liked every Rye I've tried so far.

Not so much a Whiskey reference, but still of notable comment...

A very good friend of mine is shipping out to Kuwait/Iraq in a couple weeks for a six month deployment. (He's a doctor now; did some Special Forces stuff earlier in his career). Before he leaves, he and his brother and Dad are hitting the Bourbon Trail in Kentucky. He figures if he can't drink for a few months, might as well get it all in before he leaves.

Nice!

Stopped in at the liquor store the other day and looked lovingly at all the various offerings. My wallet decided that Buffalo Trace was a good choice.

Templeton (brewed here in good ole' Iowa) is fine stuff, but it is pricey. I'm starting to get a yearning for some Jameson, particularly as we draw nearer to St. Patrick's Day.
