Bought some Knob Creek Single Barrel 120 proof. Never had this quality of a bourbon before, I usually drink Evan Williams BIB. I thought the 120 would be a lot hotter, but the bourbon is so smooth I didn't notice. This is really good stuff.

It's a little out of my price range, since Evan Williams BIB is such a great bourbon for the price, it will continue to be my "go to". But I think I'll keep a bottle of the KC single barrel for that special sip.

Knob Creek Single Barrel is a good whiskey. Definitely a good special bottle to keep on hand.

KC makes a good rye also, though not as good for the price as Old Overholt, which is the benchmark in that Dept.
I still haven't tried EW BiB but it's on my list.

Kroger started carrying Evan Williams bottled in bond. The price is nice. I'm about to crack it open and see if y'all are right about it.

Evan Williams bottled in bond is definitely better than the price suggests.

Evan Williams bottled in bond. Perhaps a bit too much this fair evening, but it is a darn find bourbon for the price.

There's WhistlePig17 year old, The Boss Hog VII: Magellan's Atlantic for $500. a bottle
But why stop there when you can get a bottle of Gordon & acPhall 125th Anniversary 1984 (Distilled at Glenbury Royal: Cask No. 2335 for a mere $2,500.00 a bottle.

I think I'll just press my nose down on the ad and sniff!

I've just learned about Basil Hayden's Dark Rye:

https://www.breakingbourbon.com/review/ ... s-dark-rye

I may just have to try this, and have just the right cigar to go along.

Has anyone ever tasted Corbin Cash Barrel Reserve "Sweet Potato" Iaqueur? Son-in-law - who hates Sweet Potatoes gave us half a bottle. Held it for weeks before braving a taste. On the sweet side. Says it's 70 proof 35% alcohol.
I am holding it - - for now - - for a time, when I may be desperate for a "vegetable" to give me comfort! :chili:

Wild Turkey 101 tonight. This stuff is just such a good bourbon. I keep coming back to this fine bottle.

Jefferson's. After the first glass, I'm not planning on getting this again. It's thin and lacks anything special.

I'm not sure who started me on the Evan Williams bottled in bond, but I'm really liking this stuff. Two fingers are the perfect evening libation. This stuff is an outstanding value.

Hugo, I think, was the person originally pointing everyone here to the EW. I still have yet to find a bottle. Is the BiB the white label?

good tasting...and under $18 is an encouragement!

J&B's Scotch- this might be the blended scotch I've been looking for. Beats JW Red and Dewar's by a mile, costs the same, and I like it better than Monkey Shoulder
