Been enjoying a 1.75 liter bottle of Costco's Kirkland Blended Scotch. Had had another bottle of a cheap Scotch and then when I had a glass of the Kirkland, wow, what a difference. Pretty good stuff.

I don't actually drink whiskey because I'm a lightweight and can't handle it.

Perhaps if I were to ever watch Whisky Galore!,
I would have to imbibe, and it'd hafta be a proper Scotch fersure.

As the Penguins take to the ice for the first game of their season, I am enjoying Dunhill RR in a Chacom 1/4 bent rhodie along with Midnight Moon Oak Cask Whiskey on the rocks.
logo | review

It's a NC distiller. I've had a couple other NC spirits and they were not to my liking. This one is different with a reasonable price point.

I have not read the review yet.

First blush:
Neat, room temperature.
94 proof
Nose - Oak upfront and center.
Palate - Lingering pepper. Similar to Wild Turkey 101. But, it doesn't increase in intensity. It hits quick and then stays.
Finish - Smooth. Flavorful. Expecting the spice to intensify and then it doesn't is quite unique to me.

If you don't care for strong oak, give this a miss.

Going to check the review now.

Ok, so that wasn't a review link.

And it still isn't.

Bought a bottle of Eagle Rare 10 yr yesterday, after perusing the shelves for quite a while. Had a good discussion with a fellow customer, who ended up rudely grabbing the very last bottle of Weller Antique 107.

This may have been covered before but has anyone tried the Costco brand Kirkland Canadian Whisky? I just got a 1.75L bottle for $18.99 and it was highly recommended by a fellow co-worker. I’ll report back this weekend on it...

Opened first bottle of Eagle Rare recently; I like it. It is similar, as expected, to Buffalo Trace, but a bit pricier and maybe a touch better.
Whatever the mash bill of these bourbons, it is about in my wheelhouse.

Costco Kirkland Canadian Blended Whiskey. Ever so smooth. Ever so cheap.

I also like Benchmark. Same mash bill just younger. But good for 10.99.

Got a bottle of Bushmills from my Northern Irish friends for Christmas that they brought back from Ireland with them. Happy days.

Happy for you, sir. Bit of fun trivia for you...Jameson was a Scot, so chances are he was a Protestant. The current master distiller of Bushmill is a Catholic. So drink what you damned well please, because whiskey is broad church.

I'm with you, btw. Much prefer Bushmills.

Good health!

I poured a Four Roses Single Barrel and sat down to watch a TV show. The characters sat down and poured the same thing. I took that as a sign I should have a second.
