I got a new bottle of Evan Williams BIB. also just ordered some Wilke Rum and Maple tobacco. I really enjoy Wilkes Vermont Maple, anxious to try their new Rum and Maple.

Redemption high rye bourbon. I've been away from rye for quite awhile now. This is a great reminder of how good rye whiskey is.

I received a bottle of Johnny Walker Black for Christmas.

It made me happy.

My physical therapist this morning suggested Crown Royal Hand Selected Barrel, reportedly a rye. But so far I haven't found a store in town that's not out of stock.

So, I'll look for something else to fill the bill this week.

I believe Crown Royal has one labeled as a rye.

There's one labeled as "Northern Harvest Rye", I believe. But the "Hand Selected Barrel" is a single barrel rye made in a Coffey still (as opposed to a pot still). But no matter, because so far everyone here is out of stock.

Found it at a small shop today, their last bottle. I think I may have obtained the last bottle in Beaumont.

My current bottle is from a local distillery. It tastes like genmaicha and I am very confused. I think I like it. But why does it taste like toasted rice?
Because it’s crud, Brigid.

You can like it. I like some crud, too.

But that was in a bad barrel, and your tasting the mustiness. Burnt popcorn can also come from an over-charred barrel.

Hey, some funk is good right?
I am relieved to hear that it isn't supposed to taste this way. I thought it was some newfangled Thing I'm supposed to get used to, like TikTok or calling things 'extra'.
