I am rather loyal to what are referred to as "the olds" of American whiskey; that is to say, Old Overholt, Old Crow, and Old Granddad. I've drank gallons of Old Granddad, both to myself and with others, though never with my actual granddad. I'd often drink copious amounts of whiskey with an elderly priest of my acquaintance. That's similar, I suppose.

Old Overholt is about as good as it gets, by and large. Never tried Old Grandad but I want to. I knew several old guys from my youth whose go to was Old Grandad. I've had Old Crow a few times, mixed with Coke. Never had any straight, but I don't think it's intended to be drank straight.

Russell's Reserve. A step above Wild Turkey 101, but not enough of a step to justify another $10 a bottle. I'd buy 101 over this stuff.

Man... perfection is the right word. The only change I’d make is C&D Redburn just for the sailing reference

We all know that Scotch whisky is the best. Especially the Smoky/peaty ones.

Laphroaig 10 perhaps being at the top of the list, Ardbeg somewhere close behind followed by Laphroaig quarter cask and then full cask, dont forget the Octomore either.

Edit: Happy to be sober but man I miss whisky and whiskey
