We all know that Scotch whisky is the best. Especially the Smoky/peaty ones.

Laphroaig 10 perhaps being at the top of the list, Ardbeg somewhere close behind followed by Laphroaig quarter cask and then full cask, dont forget the Octomore either.

Edit: Happy to be sober but man I miss whisky and whiskey

Last week I was watching the pilot episode of a show called "Men in Kilts" on Starz, in which Outlander actors Sam Heughan and Graham MacTavish tour Scotland and explore Scottish culture and history. The Laphroaig distillery was a featured destination in the episode - the guys even got to go and dig in the bog to harvest peat used in the manufacturing process. Between what I saw on that show, and your glowing recommendation above, I'm going to have to pick up a bottle of Laphroaig 10 soon

Besides Lagavulin 16 year old (which is my hands down favorite) this is the best whiskey I've ever had. Oddly enough it's made on the island right next to us (Orcas Island). It won Best in Category & Gold Medal 2019 / Silver Medal 2020 for the American Single Malt Whiskey category.

This one doesn't taste anything like Lagavulin (no peat smoke or iodine). Westland Peated Whiskey also from here in Washington state is quite good. Tastes like a Lagavulin without the age. The peat is locally harvested. I posted a pic of it a few pages back.

Not sure where you can get this one from Orcas Island other than local or ordering through them. It's outstanding though.

I’ve had worse scotch. Try a bottle of Ballantine’s and you’ll be thinking that Monkey Shoulder is Lagavulin.

None taken. Personally, I find at the price point, it's the best scotch available. I'll take it over Johnny Walker Red or Dewar's White. And it sits at a weird place in my own personal economy that for $10 more, I find that I would have gotten better value springing an extra $50 for a bottle of 18 year Glenlivet (I honestly have yet to find a bottle of scotch in the $40 to $50 range I actually thought worth it). Sometimes I just want a bottle of scotch without having to budget for a bottle of good scotch.
