Be still and know that I am God
I did a word study on this verse once. The Hebrew word for "be still" is raphah. And the outline for biblical use is.....

to sink, relax, sink down, let drop, be disheartened

(Qal)

to sink down

to sink, drop

to sink, relax, abate

to relax, withdraw

(Niphal) idle (participle)

(Piel) to let drop

(Hiphil)

to let drop, abandon, relax, refrain, forsake

to let go

to refrain, let alone

to be quiet

(Hithpael) to show oneself slack
Good stuff Goose.

Thanks.

Luke 21

25 There shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;

26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

"And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband."

I found comfort in this passage this morning.

From Psalm 91

5 Thou shalt not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flieth by day,

6 nor of the pestilence that walketh in darkness, nor of the destruction that layeth waste at noonday.
...
11 For He shall give His angels charge over thee to keep thee in all thy ways.

12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

1 I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.

2 He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings

James 5:7 King James Version (KJV)

7 Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.
