Just to mark a passing, I read that Lefty Kreh died recently.

I saw that, too. Seems like I've read about him my whole life.

Him and Bob Clouser were on my bucket list. Looks like we are down to Bob this side of eternity.

I got home from work determined that I was going to spend the evening at the vice...after I had trouble getting the thread on the hook shank and dumping an entire bag of bead heads on the floor and breaking the thread 3 times and the hook once...I went upstairs and read a couple of chapters of "Good Flies" by John Gierach with a nice glass of bourbon

Some days you're the bug, some days you're the windshield. I've had days like this. Even days on the water when I've decide that I'm as well of stretching out in a sunny spot and taking a nap. A shot of hooch with Gierach is as good as an outdoor nap and, some days, they're both better than tying a fly. This deal is supposed to be fun and there's no sense in pushing through if it's not happening. Unless you're on your trip of a lifetime to catch bones in Belize or something. My line's in the water every second if that's the case.

I’m working on tying some of my red and guinea Spey flies to be sold as part of a fundraiser... I’m rapidly discovering that tying for myself and tying to sell are different universes....

First one. Starting to run low on guinea feathers...

Hoping to do a few of these and mount them in a barnwood shadow box.

Thanks! The real challenge will be doing some reasonably matching ones...

The biggest challenge on this was getting the body profile I wanted with the lead wire underneath. I’m pretty happy with how that aspect turned out. Had to re-do it a few times.

Working on another set for our auction next month. Honest opinions on this one would be appreciated; is it too busy? I made it up so it’s a work in progress.

RS2's in Blue Winged Olive and Pale Morning Dun colors. The yellow (PMD) ones have CDC wing buds and dun hackle fiber tails. The olive (BWO) ones have fluff from a white saddle hackle for wing buds and paint brush fibers for tails.

'Zactly. I vowed not to fish until I could buy a resident license so I've stayed off the water all winter. But Sunday is F day. It's also Easter and my BIL is coming down from WY so I may or may not actually get out that evening, but for sure it's game on after that.

Some experiments inspired by a FB post last week. Maribou, goose biots, and Krystal Flash.
