Amazing Low Level Fly Over CA's Sierra Nevada Snow Pack

Post by Goose55 » Tue Feb 14, 2017 11:05 am

Absolutely stunning, pristine low level fly over, of California's Sierra Nevada snow pack. This is amazing. Don't miss it. Lose yourself in the grandeur of it all. I did.

Cool stuff. You're not planning on becoming Super-Goose again, with the cape & big G on your chest, and saving that dam, are you?
California didn't like that the last time. They now have regulations that prohibit weird stuff like that.

The same guy was patrolling the water sheds during the drought and there is good information.

It's really interesting how California has engineered the weirs and rivers for water management.

No heroism this time. I have to let it rest because it was too heavy. But this amazing video of the Sierra fly over was uplifting. Felt like I was in a high "V" formation with the flock. Getting the flock out of there.

Do you have anything with a freak in an ultralight flying in formation with assorted geese over this snow pack?

No geese would volunteer to go in that direction during the Sierra Nevada winter,

Many more feet of snow fell in CA's Sierra Nevada this week, adding yet even more snow that will melt into CA's reservoirs,... which are filled to the brim already. Where will the water be put?

The terrain in this video in the opening post is now way whiter.

It's just a whiter shade of pale.... Actually California has damn good water mgmt.
To manage the ensuing panic during water season please try
1) Getting Skip to light the fandango
2) Turning cartwheels cross the floor
3) Provoke seasickness
4) Encourage the crowd to call out for more... scary, eh?
5) Believe the room is humming harder... it's a breeze, summer breeze
6) Windy ...As the ceiling flew away
7) Call out for another drink
8) The waiter, anticipating your need, will bring a tray

Signs of success...
Your face, at first just ghostly,
Turns a whiter shade of pale

Water in California is a political power play.
Without motivation from the State and money from the Feds, nothing gets done.
In the 40's, 50's, 60's and early 70's there was an amazing water storage and delivery system built.
The State Water Board is made up of political appointees. If it were made up of representatives of the districts that actually use the water, there would be some accountability.

But those poor earthen antiquated levees in the north state, getting so saturated with no one would have guessed such an onslaught of storms. And right on the heels of years of drought. And all that snow up there now--200% or more of average. And so many housing developments built alongside the levees. Everyone on needles and pins.

That snow up there got my attention, with that low fly over vid I posted

It's ironic that several of those old levees are all that keeps the capitol, Sacramento, dry.

Thanks, Bob. I'm glad someone out there to step into the breach.

I mean, it's nice and all that Goose is willing to return to his own threads daily and make sure to bump them, thereby annoying every one that didn't care to watch or read them the first ten times he posted and or bumped the thread at issue, but sometimes you genuinely missed the original post and don't know where to go to find it and goose isn't there.

You see, Goose, bumping a thread every day or two does nothing to get your point across. I think you should do it every fifteen minutes if you want somebody to know what you really think. Show some initiative.

I'm never going to watch it. Ever. And I want him to know that the only way he could do if it is if he held me down and rigged my eyeballs open like in A Clockwork Orange, and even then I'd be gnashing my teeth and spitting at it.

I was just trying to tell him politely to stop it.
