The Name Jim's Kayak Contest

Post by JimVH » Sat Oct 21, 2017 8:48 pm

Apparently naming your kayak is now hip and cool, and since I'm nothing if not hip and cool, I'm coming to you for inspiration. So, submit your idea(s) in this thread. I'll pick a winner as soon as I start getting tired of the thread. The winning name will earn one unopened tin of good quality tobacco. If I'm impressed enough to actually put your proposed name on my boat I'll throw in a pipe.

Go.

Lol, I’ve got two unnamed kayaks, I’ve never heard of such a thing...

"Scooter"

BTW, I guess I'm confirmed not cool or hip. I've not (yet) seen a named kayak.

My dad called me Scooter as a kid. You get a bonus point.

I follow a few different kayaking pages on FB. It's pretty regular that one of them will have a kayak name thread running. Just seemed like a good idea for a contest.

Boom.

Although I always liked Calvin and Hobbes, I never understood Calvin's father until I had kids. They are always asking odd questions. Who was the first man to plant a tulip? Who invented the pencil? Who decided that eating rice was a good idea?

The answer is always "Steve."

Your kayak should be named "Steve."

My on line friends were offered an unopened tin of good quality tobacco to name my kayak and this is the best they could come up with.
