The box was at my house when I got off work last night. Brigid already has this thing packed to the brim.

With never doing this before at first it was a little overwhelming. Luckily Brigid had everything categorized and sorted. Black, white, green, oolong and herb/red. There were a variety of teas in each section. There was also a bag of coffee that smells great.

I decided to start off trying a cup of Black. Not the Russian Caravan but the other, I will get the names on the final list. (I am making a list of what I am getting from the box each day. Meant to bring it but left it at home.) I also tried one of the Green teas, again I will get the names later. I highly enjoyed the Russian and it would have gone great with a cigar or pipe. The Green was very earthy. I didn't plan on adding anything to the teas to get the taste but half way through this cup I did blend in a bit of honey with it.

I do not plan on taking much from the box. Maybe one or two cups a day but it did appear to have enough of each loose leaf for everyone to try a cup unless noted. I will be picking some good tea up to add before sending and I will also be adding some whiskey infused coffee. I will give a full update in a week when I am ready to send off the box.
The Russian Caravan makes a pretty good cup of tea, and is great with a bit of lemon juice or even a dash of bitters.
I'm old but I'm happy. (Most of the time.)

In the online game I play, Runescape, they added a graphic for when you need to rest from fighting monsters. A Chinese Tea Ceremony.

The box should leave my hands tomorrow.

My favorites to this point:
Darjeeling Quince
White Peony
Mango Black
Rao's Monks Blend
Sen-Cha Green

Still to try:

White Pomegranite
Blueberry Bingo

I've never gone much for the flavored/fruited teas. This has been fun.

I'll update with my adds tomorrow.

That Monks Blend is good, and popular too. I got the last of what the store had, and thats what went into the box.

Rao's is a cool joint, huh. We have one close to the office. I haven't had it, but my partner says their gelato is spectacular.

Oh, indeed. There's two stores in Beaumont, and one in mid county. I didn't know they were in Houston area.
BTW that blueberry bingo is my wife's favorite iced tea.

Here are my adds:

Formosa Lapsang Souchong - For my tastes, the best LS tea I have tried.

Earl Grey Extra - It's said to have more of the Bergamot. I don't know that I taste that in it, but I do enjoy this version a lot more than the grocery store brands. It's also very good iced (don't mock me).

Paris - Not macho smelling, but very good. My coworkers love the aroma.

Edgar Allan Poe - My favorite of all the teas I've ever tried.

A bag of chocolate covered espresso beans. Addictive, I just can't have them near me. Enjoy.

A bundle of these:

That's the best part of this box pass. For once, my wife is as excited as I am. Although she had full on culture shock that Brigid didn't like green tea.

Yay! This is good! It reminds me of a tea I drank back in Springfield but I can't remember the name.

Alright, I'll get off my duff and make sure the box gets mailed today or tomorrow at the latest. Mrs. UB and The Girl let me near the box a couple of times. Here is what I know happened:

1. Mrs. UB LOVES the bottle stopper that JimVH turned for her. Thank you, sir!
2. My favorite is the Monk's Blend.
3. The Girl stole all the chocolate-covered espresso beans.
4. Mrs. UB likes the Blueberry Tea best in the box.
5. I am adding some goodies.

We may have to try that. Mrs. UB and The Girl saved a bit.
