I have hardly been smoking at all lately. Rusty would scold me for that!
One of our dogs died in his sleep last night, so there is a melancholy mood around the place. Giovanni (aka Gigio) was a poodle-shepherd mix, who greeted me every morning with howls and songs. So quiet this morning; I miss Gigio's music.
I'm reflecting on people who have come and gone from my life, feeling thankful for their presence for a time.

Today I will break my smoking fast with a bowl of something very English, in the Butz Choquin that I purchased from Rusty's estate.
Thanks for helping us to remember Rusty.

You should stop by more often, yourself. Please.
==================================

My own family is doing some funeral travel. Mrs. Del's estranged brother died in Georgia.

He had been fighting cancer. We just found out a few weeks ago.
Condolences to Mrs. Del, and Happy Christmas to both of you.

Huya Jake....how's that pipe doing? I've had ol' Rusty on my mind a lot lately too. Can't help it. Still such a void around.

Sorry to hear about your loss. My condolences. Rusty's dog moved out west with his widow. The dog's name is Jackie.

That is funny. Most of the time I get, "Hey, I have [or know of someone with] a dog named Jake!" Never Jackie, which is my given name. :lol:

I do enjoy the Butz Choquin... currently loaded with Gray Flannel.

Given my sporadic smoking behavior, Rusty once told me that I should smoke cigars instead of the pipe. I think he meant that to be mildly insulting and disciplinary. :lol:

He was pretty good at that! He often gave me crap, used to crack me up.

I miss Rusty.

He once told me that I was full of crap, in his unique way, when I mentioned that I would occasionally get cigar like notes from C&D Old Joe Krantz. Stuff like that always made me smile.

Sad emotions. Serious thoughts. It won't seem the same - correction: it won't be the same, without Rusty.
