Cool Pic...

Post by JMG » Mon Mar 12, 2018 11:49 pm

One of our mission's pilots, and his wife and newborn baby, are staying with us for a couple days. He airdropped me a cool pic from one of the times into my village and I thought you guys might like it. That's my house in the background...

BTW...my shutters are on pulleys from inside the house and we lower them on days we have flights because they blow so much dust in the house since we don't have real windows.

That looks like a serious mission-field plane--lots of cargo space and ready for rough airfields. I've always found Missionary Support Aviation to be an interesting aspect of the work. Extremely appreciated by those in the field and almost unknown to the folks back in the states.

Tell your aviators that I'm praying for them. (Don't worry, I'm praying for you and your family also.)

ETA: Just curious: Is this you?
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are not.

I'm envious, actually, in an odd way. (A confession).

But anyway that's a cool pic, indeed. Btw, solar panels on the house?
I'm old but I'm happy. (Most of the time.)

You shouldn't post that, man. Now anybody can track him down and just show up!

What, with all of us just stopping by willy nilly, they may not know to lower the shutters and then all the dirt will get in the house . . . . Mrs. JMG is not going to be pleased at all.

I "think" this other place I pinned is my village. The one you showed was the first Hewa location that had to be abandoned due to violence back in '06

Here I Am... :wavey:

I've hiked from the Hewa strip to my place before. I hope I never have to do it again. By far, the most physically demanding thing I've ever done.

Yeah, it's how we power our house. And there's a solar hot water heater.

Why do you need to heat hot water? Tea?

I'm not sure how it got 5 stars, but I can assure you, it is no place you want to travel to.
