Not a bucket list (or any kind of lists) guy, but I do want to learn to fly fish one day.

Looks like the first 2 will happen in order. Maybe the 3rd will happen as well.

Bobby Sheehan is (was) my bass hero. Always admired his playing. I have seen Blues Traveler twice, but both times were post-Bobby. First show was in 2000, IIRC, and they were starting to debut songs that would be on the album that would later be released as “Bridge”. Great show - I even got to meet Popper (who gave me one of his harmonicas, signed) and Brendan. Second time was a few years ago, and Popper was performing with a cold and sounded horrible.

Come for a Jets/pens game and then I'll send you on the train to Churchill.

Funny how some things you grow up with and don't even notice sometimes is somebody else's bucket list item.

No backstage pass. The show was at a small club in Carrboro (Chapel Hill area) called The Cat's Cradle. I was among a small handful of fans who hung out outside the venue for a long time after the show, and we got to meet the band as the crew was packing up an hour or so after the show. The whole experience of what was an awesome show, plus getting to meet Popper, Brendan & Chan afterward was the kind of experience that I'll never forget. If I live into my 80's I'll be telling the tale still.

It saddens me that their songwriting in the last several years has taken a downturn, though their latest album is an improvement IMO. Bridge was their last good album from start to finish, though there have been some great songs here and there since. Their best work was all in their first 5 albums, I think. When I feel the itch to listen to them nowadays I always go back to Live From the Fall.

Fainn - If you haven't seen it yet, here's a good video with good sound quality of a Bobby-era show: https://youtu.be/JQv66WUDEFw

The first song was my se one favorite. Canadian rose is my favorite. I have a theory Popper was a better singer before the surgery, but I guess the main thing is that he's alive.
