Just when I though things couldn't get any more insane.

Recently, a Swedish researcher and professor named Magnus Soderlund unveiled his plan to fight climate change. Cutting greenhouse gas emissions may require us to develop a taste for human flesh. Yes, it is time to practice eco-cannibalism. Soderlund noted that, unfortunately, many people might balk at cannibalism. They're just too uptight and middle-class. He suggested baby steps to open their minds: They can start by eating their own pets.

Didn’t The Mooch already accuse somebody of doing just that?

Things are getting too crazy to fathom.

There's been an uptick in the 'eat less meat to save the climate!' rhetoric. It was even a question asked last night in the Democratic debate. I've seen a number of articles highlighting the benefits of eating bugs in an effort to be eco-friendly. There is a growing fad of meatless meat and lab grown meat. Newsweek had a recent article in what can only be seen as an effort to de-stigmatize the idea of cannibalism.

Add to that biotechnology that uses stem cells for all sorts of things, including vaccines. Even more horrible is the well documented 'pills' that contain nearly 100% human (from Chinese babies), that are taken in China to increase stamina.

Richard Dawkins said last year
What if human meat is grown? Could we overcome our taboo against cannibalism? An interesting test case for consequentialist morality versus “yuck reaction” absolutism.

Well a person anyway, I doubt most Swedes want to eat human flesh or their pets any more than we do. They are of Viking stock but even Vikings had their limits.

Didn't they drink out of skulls? Iron eagle. I'd wanna fact check that. Vikings were pretty gross.

Well I didn't say the vikings were nice. Plus I bet they washed out the skulls before they drank out of them.

In the novel Glory Road by Heinlein the hero destroys a giant snake (or it might have been a dragon, I can't remember) by sticking it's tail in it's mouth. The snake starts eating himself and the hero starts rolling him up smaller and smaller until he it rolled up into a grease spot on his palm

All that's lacking in his recommendation is a nice bottle of Chianti and some Fava beans.
