Tom Hanks new film "A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood."

Post by Goose55 » Wed Nov 20, 2019 12:08 pm

Tom Hanks Plays' Fred Rogers in the new film "A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood." I am glad for this. We need it. Seems like our society and culture started slipping badly after Fred Rogers passing.....

Yeah, Mr Rogers was the glue that held this country together. :egor:

That said, this is one of my most highly anticipated films in a long time. Mrs FredS and I rarely agree on what films to see but this is one we're both jonesing for.

I was -->this<-- close to saying something similar but didn't want to harsh Goose's buzz.

But it wasn't on Goose. For whatever reason I've seen about fifty different people and/or headlines post something in the vein of: This New Tom Hanks Film is Just What Our Country Needs Now!

We all know that's such crap.

Tom Hanks just found out he's actually related to Mr. Rodgers.

Fred Rodgers accomplished far far more than he ever would have accomplished from a Presbyterian pulpit. He was an ordained Presbyterian minister.

I clicked on this... and Cigarson stood by me, and we watched the whole thing.

Big, tough Cigarson -- soldier, carpenter, campus missionary, motorcycler, gun-nut, firefighter -- couldn't tear himself away.

Fred Rogers still has that magnetism.

I hope Tom Hanks does right by him. I will take Mrs. Del to see.

This movie event wasn't on my radar.

But an ad came on TV this evening (during my wife's Hallmark Christmas movie) -- and we are going to see it.

Movie opens this weekend.

I beg to differ. It is possible to be in favor with God. It says so. The prophet Daniel was told so by an angel that visited him.

Even as a young child I remember Mr. Rogers Neighborhood being an extremely boring show. It wasn't fun. I could care less if he was nice.

I always thought the boring children's TV host on Mrs Doubtfire that was ultimately replaced was a good representation of how boring Mr. Rogers was.
