Mrs FredS and I went to lunch the other day and saw an Audi A7 parked diagonally in the lot so as to avoid door dings. She asked if it was really that valuable of a car. I said, "Well it's no 2019 Ram 3500 LARAMIE CREW CAB 4X4 with an 8' box, and inline 6 Cyl Cummins High Output Diesel coupled with a 6 speed Automatic Aisin transmission, but yeah, it's a nice car."

Hauled a 6,000 pound load of 2 pallets of Lowes brick in the bed of the truck back from Phoenix today,.... so that I may "run in" the Cummins diesel when I drive out and up to Kitt Peak Observatory over the weekend. Payload is 6,700 lbs, so I was well within the limits. Users Guide says it's advisable to run in in Cummins within the 1st 6,000 miles in order to "fit & finish" the engine. I will drive up and back down the 5,000 ft grade 3 or 4 times. Maybe more.

With so much yet to learn with all the electronics, today I stumbled upon a screen which displays in the dash, vital drive train data. As I hauled the brick over mostly level roadway, here's what I saw

Engine coolant: 195 F
Oil Temp: 203F
Transmission temp: 163F
Oil pressure: 50psi

Interesting. Is there anything to tell you whether you're in normal ranges? I dont know even know how to process some of that information.

I'd say those readings are right where they should be for a 2019 Ram 3500 LARAMIE CREW CAB 4X4 with an 8' box, and inline 6 Cyl Cummins High Output Diesel coupled with a 6 speed Automatic Aisin transmission. Oil pressure seems a bit low, I'd expect it to be about 55psi at cruising RPM, but I've never owned or driven a 2019 Ram 3500 LARAMIE CREW CAB 4X4 with an 8' box, and inline 6 Cyl Cummins High Output Diesel coupled with a 6 speed Automatic Aisin transmission so I don't have a baseline for that. Temps will probably go up 5-10 degrees with the same load in the summer. Oil pressure might drop a pound or two as the temps rise.

That's good to know. It's good to have as much information as possible, obviously, but much like speaking in tongues, it's important to have somebody along who can interpret.

That screen made me think of Kelly's Heroes..."I only ride em, I don't know what makes em work."

That manual must be quite a tome.
