1963...Love the Ford T-Bird from this year

I had the chance when I was 16 to buy a "Barn find" 63, Red like this one $300...but my stepdad said he wasn't interested in helping me get it road worthy so...I should have bought it anyway!

Around the late 60's my next to oldest adult brother drove one of these out to our rural mom & pop grocery from the City, and I remember it remained parked for sometime, exposed to the weather and elements. He had no driver license that I recall, and no doubt drove it without insurance. I think his intent might have been to get legal and drive it. Don't recall whatever became of the car. It was white, I think.

The top picture peaked my search interest:

What Year Was The Smokey And The Bandit Trans Am?
The Trans Am used in the movie was a 1976 model with the front end of a 1977 car.

If anyone wonders why I'm not into cars, it might be because the flashy, cherry red sports cars of my birthyear were hideous.

I mean REALLY.
And I say that fondly! One of these was my first car. Except in black.

1971 was an ugly year for cars but there were a few gems.

1971 Plymouth Hemi Cuda

1971 Olds 442

Not my favorite year for Camaro but..

Not my favorite year for Mustang either...
