Autumn color

Post by Hovannes » Thu Oct 08, 2020 8:10 am

Where I live, we have only two dominant seasons--Hot and Fog---however there are four seasons about 25 miles away up in the Sierra and Autumn is one of the best----usually. Quaking Aspen stands get pretty spectacular although our native Maples are a poor comparison to the Maples in other parts of the country and the Dogwoods and Horse Chestnuts fade pretty quickly.

The fires have kind of put an end to our expectations for any Autumn color in our proximity.
There is nothing quite like a hike through the color to get a feeling for the changing of seasons.

You don't know what you've got 'til it's gone.

Here is a pic of what we were blessed with for color. This is about 25 miles West of Creede Colorado.
