Picnic?

The Zoo?

Take a hike?

Share a party barge at the lake with another family?(rentals ain't cheap)

Go tubing or rafting on a gentle, shallow family friendly river?

Check out a local museum or historical site?

Go for a ride on a steam railroad?(do a search for for discount coupons since this can get pricey)

Visit a U-pick berry patch, pick a buckets of berries, take them home and bake pies. Enjoy with ice cream.

If the weather is obliging, go kite flying. The cheap kites from Walmart fly really well.

Father's day activities?

Post by BeefyG » Sun May 30, 2021 3:16 pm

Trip to the beach.
Hike at a park. (We have a park nearby with lots of alligators so we count how many we see.)
BBQ at the house and play board games. (I’ve built a nice collection from shopping at thrift stores. Just count the pieces before buying.)
Go fishing as a family.
Make homemade pizza.

Picnic. PBJ, chips, a chunk of cheese, fruit snacks, and a jug of Kool-aid are all you need. Take a frisbee or some sort of ball, a bucket (your kiddo will find some sticks and stones to take home), and a blanket. Go to a free beach or city park with fun stuff to climb on.

A round of miniature golf is always fun.
There's nearly always discount coupons floating around somewhere,

This.

We usually just do a backyard bbq or go fishing with my parents. Cost is very low if you already have gear.

This aint my first fathers day rodeo.

It's called "Father's Day", but it's really a day for your wife and kids to give you stuff you don't need, and do things with you that you'd rather do yourself. Grin and bear it. It's the thought that counts.

That's the conclusion I've come to also. Applies to birthdays also. On my "special" days, I have to give my family the gift of feeling like they're doing something to make the days special for me.
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are not.

No plans. Just sleep in, eat some Biscuitville, and sit around in my PJ's doing as little as possible.

How about we chip in and have FredS send us all some samples from the Weed Ranch?

That should make the day go away....
