Inexpensive (but decent) automatic watch

Post by Stanley76 » Tue Jun 08, 2021 9:42 am

I like mechanical and automatic (self winding) watches. I have a nice Swiss watch but I can't afford another one. I saw this Seiko 5 at a local jewelry store and bought it. I paid too much for it as it turned out (if you shop around on the internet you can find one for less than $250.00) but I'm still happy with it. Accuracy is nowhere near my good watch or a quartz watch but that's not the point of owning a mechanical watch as far as I'm concerned. I'm pretty much a watch freak and I like this one so far. It looks like a dive watch but it's not, so if you get one I'd recommend not taking it into the water. Anyway, I'm happy with it for what it is and wanted to show it off.

Nice one! I like the NATO strap, too.

Nice. You can't go wrong with Seiko. I love 'em.

I am wearing my trusty SKX013 today. It's the watch that the one you bought sort of replaced. The new version(s) come in many more dial/bezel variations with a better movement but a lower water resistance rating. I've thought of getting a blue one, but I don't really need another watch.

I don't need anything more than a G Shock but I can't convince myself of that.
