I help my dad coach my 12 year old brother's football team, so 3 - 4 days a week I'm doing some running and various other activities, usually to demonstrate drills.

Funny, I'm exactly the opposite. I tried going to the gym with my wife and doing her routine, half of which is cardio and half of which is lifting. I get totally bored lifting, and wish I was back on the tread mill the whole time. To me it's just slow, agonizing and seemingly pointless exertion.

I have a bad ankle from when I used to skateboard. A physical therapist once told me I should ride one of those gym bikes, but I can't stand those. For me, if I'm doing some kind of movement exercise, I like know I'm actually GETTING somewhere. It's that sense of achievement. For the same reason I also always hated tread mills. But lately I've been going with my wife to the gym, and the cool thin about their tread mills is that they have T.V. attached to the front, and I find it kind of fun to jog while watching T.V. I don't have T.V. at home, so it's sort of a special thing, anyway.

So, the last thing I did was moving furniture into our new house. But it's been probably three weeks since I actually went to the gym because of things that keep coming up with our new place. But when I was there, I think I ran 2 miles on the tread mill while watching some show about serial killers, then I shot some hoops on their basketball court.

I do 20 push ups before I go to bed and 20 when I wake up. I then have a weight training schedule throughout the week.

I ride my bike to school every day, to a local farm to buy produce about twice a week (though only through the end of this month when they close for winter), and to the grocery store about one a week. I also squeeze in a pleasure ride from time to time on nice days.

My middle boy and I rode our bikes to church this morning.

My normal workout looks like this: Mon. Wed. and Fri. I run 3mi, Tue. and Thurs. I swim in the morning and lift or do core exercises in the evening.

But, being that I have been sick for about a month I can't do that right now.

My last exercise was yesterday, 5mi ruck march with a 35lb ruck.

Walked a lap, with the family, around the perimeter of the local nature preserve. My daughter likes to stop at all of the 'physical fitness stations' - since she can't read yet, she 'reenacts' the depictions of the exercises on the plaques in front of the stations. Good fun.

Walked 2 miles this morning. Winters coming, and the walk would have been more enjoyable if I had a beard.

The gym several times a week foer a 30 to 45 min exer-cycle (I read a book to keep occupied or I couldn't do it). Used to swim laps (loved it) but somehow developed a sensitivity to chlorine (skin breaks out in little bumbs and itches like H E double toothpicks). Also do some weights and core stuff. Lower back with two degenerated disks at L-5 and S-1 no longer hurt since I added the core junk.
All that to justify a cart when I golf.

Hiked 6 miles today on some steep and rugged terrain while hunting.
