Acadian Perique in my Peterson Ebony Billiard
Can you even notice the perique in this blend?

DBE in a Luciano semi-horn 2010 POY, #24.
Not really- it doesn't have any more presence than Bayou Morning, and I'd say probably less. At this point I basically smoke it only because I have a mostly full tin, I don't hate it, and I want a change of pace from my regular rotation of tobaccos. I don't think I'll be picking up another tin, but don't feel like I wasted any money on the experiment, as I do with some tinned tobaccos I'd got on a whim.

I do notice the perique. With it being something of a kitchen sink blend though, it's also a heterogeneous experience from one bowl to another - one of the reasons I typically gravitate toward flakes. This isn't blend that wows me in any great way, but I find it to be a solid everyday smoke. Still working my way through the 100g tin I opened a few weeks ago, but I picked up a second 100g tin at the local shop today.

I was also told that Mac Baren has discontinued this blend. While this isn't likely to be viewed as a massive tragedy for pipe smokers, I think it's always kind of a sad thing any time a solid blend disappears from the market.

The last two days: unknown jarred mystery va flake…
It will be fun to discover what this tobacco this is - it’s been tasty.
It’s McClelland 2015. :-) It’s a shame, because this one is great. The perique adds just enough zing to the sweet VA. I probably have two bowls left before it’s gone forever.

MC 2015 in a Dunhill Shellbriar straight billiard. I have half of a bowl left in the jar and half in the pipe. So I’ll have a mix of dgt and the remainder next smoke (prob tonight.)

My small stash of MC 2015 is now gone: a vivid reminder of the temporary nature of earthly things.
