Been smoking the Comoy Zulu and the Blatter Canadian POY this week, with mostly 2013 Christmas Cheer, as well as Dan Black Velvet.
I'm old but I'm happy. (Most of the time.)

Wessex Natural Lovat, end of pouch fragments of Esoterica Dorchester. Damned fine way of ending an evening.

Old Dark Fired in the Pietenpauw lovat. Finishing off a bowl that I started late last night.

Its been a hard couple weeks, guys. Among other things, we've been taking care of our ailing dachshund. I'm only staying at the office for 3 or 4 hours today, then my wife and I are taking Frances to the vet to release her from her suffering. Lisa (wife) is really close to this dog, as are 11 year old daughter and my 8 year old son. We could use some prayer today.
I tend to find the doctrinal books often more helpful in devotion than the devotional books.... I believe that many who find that "nothing happens" when they sit down, or kneel down, to a book of devotion, would find that the heart sings unbidden while they are working their way through a rough bit of theology with a pipe in their teeth and a pencil in their hand.
