My IPSD smoke will be much later today. Unbelievable, but my wife and I are going to work in our garden today. It will be incredibly warm for Feb. She wants to move plants around in front of the house and add a brick divider to separate the yard from the garden next to the garage.

Then we will go out to eat.

THEN I can relax with a pipe.

I placed an order ... my last for the year, I think, or perhaps even longer, depending on how long it takes to go through what I have. I'll have a smoke or two today, while getting some work done around here.
I'm old but I'm happy. (Most of the time.)

Lighting my first pipe of IPSD 2017 now. Presbyterian Mixture in the Turner Lovat and some coffee. There will be others to follow. I am off work today and preparing for the trip tomorrow to San Francisco. I decided to order some more Fusilier's Ration and take advantage of the 20% discount today...man is that stuff good. Thanks again to my Secret Santa for introducing me to this blend.

Yay! The wind has died down enough to light one here. Probably will be a 200A.

The first year I actually ordered something on IPSD, picked up some tins and some bulk.

Am I dreaming it or didn't the big companies (P&C, Smokingpipes) have some kind of box specials in the past? I didn't see anything like that.

P&C usually does. SP rarely includes anything except their 10% discount. Last year, I think SP's discount was actually 15%.

Either way, I ordered my favorite Pease blends that will eventually go off the market.

x1 GLP Meridian 8 oz
x1 GLP Six Pence 8 oz
x1 GLP Gaslight 8 oz
x1 GLP Maltese Falcon 8 oz
x1 GLP Lagonda 8 oz
x1 Le Petit Robin Semois 100g
Decatur Pipe tool
x5 Tapered Pipe Cleaners

And the free bag of coffee, of course.

It's a shame I cannot smoke today, as I'm fighting a cold.

P&C used to offer a ginormous bag of goodies.

A few years ago, they cut pack on the generous goodies to the first dozens of customers. Sold out in minutes.

This year, they are offering 20% off of everyone's order, and a free bag of Peterson coffee beans for the first 500 orders. Will probably be really good with a morning bowl.

Smoking Pipes has a 10% off sale for IPSD. I priced a pound of McClelland 5100 at both places -- after the discounts, they came to the same price. So I recommend that you put an order in with your favorite vendor and take the price discount. It's gonna be a great deal, anyway.

Pipes & Cigars

McClelland No. 5100 Red Cake 16 OZ
Out of Office Gone Fishin' 1.75 Ounce Tin
Toscanello Natural Pack of 5 3 pkg
Crafters 3-Finger Leather Case
Chatham Manor 14oz 14 Ounce Can
Peterson Coffee - Dublin Blend 8 Ounce Bag (free gift to first 500 orders)

Yippee!
I was very happy to find those Toscanos. I enjoy the the little Italian cigars made with dark fired kentucky. Very different from Caribbean cigars. Less Fidel Castro, more Clint Eastwood.

Chatham Manor is Russ's homage to Carter Hall. We did a pass-around test of the Mid-Town series, and Chatham Manor was a favorite. Certainly my favorite, smooth burley with a hint of cocoa.

Mid-Town is a great deal on great tobacco, in a re-sealable tub that will keep for a long, long time.

Nice. I stumbled upon a review about 8 months ago, and had it on my wishlist since then. Finally pulled the trigger :)

Unless I find a particularly good deal on something, it's likely I won't participate.
Yeah. That's what I was thinking . . .
Except for a some tobacco I ordered on Friday and Saturday from Smoking Pipes and P&C--got the free coffee from P&C, too.

Then, tonight, one last peek before time ran out on the sales.

A gorgeous two clover, smooth, 360 deg. fine flame grain, plateau rim Viprati bent Dublin pleaded with me. Begged with me. Pulled on my heartstrings. Told me a chance like this might never come again! (They lie like that.)

I gave in.

I have been looking for a Viprati, and this one was priced right on sale and too nice to pass up.

Spent free time today smoking from a recently opened jar of aged Luxury Bulls Eye Flake. Delicious!
Gave a small jar of it to a friend at school. We celebrated IPSD by smoking it together.

Sigh.
