As the box heads to the Great Divide; am having a small bowl of Jerry's Pipes & Cigars Pilot's blend.

TR.com was not helpul.

This is a very interesting flake.

I had a bit of that, but I think it was ghosted by the previous bowl of SG Flake #7. When I get something that flavored I have to de-ghost my pallet as well as the pipe. Just switching pipes won't work.

I have tried to figure out what it is and who makes it...The guys at Jerri's pipe shop are mum on the topic. It is a quality blend. It was one of the blends that followed me from my early piping days.

What type of topping does it have?

The eagle has landed in NOCO. I'm sorry to report that it'll be grounded for a while as I'm heading out of town for a few days. I haven't gone out of town for more than a day or two in months, but as soon as I get the box I gotta leave. I know I'm breaking the rules. Get over it.

OK, not really. I'm over it.

I know what tins I'm taking, but there are just so many samples I want to try that I can't work through them before I leave.

The box gently weeps.

First Box Pass of 2018: who's in?

Post by JohnnyMcPiperson » Wed Mar 21, 2018 8:06 am

I always just get out a box of snack baggies and make some pulls for myself, enough to load a pipe or two. Nobody says you have to smoke your samples while the box is in your possession.

Fred's travelling. He'll make it right when he gets back I'm sure. Wish I was next on the list, in fact.

Post by JohnnyMcPiperson » Wed Mar 21, 2018 1:34 pm

Oh, I know, I’m not criticizing, it just seemed like he was concerned that he wouldn’t be able to sample everything, I’m just pointing out that he still can. Fred can take as much time as he needs, no worries there.

Might be he is struggling with keeping the pie explicitly sent to him or to pass it on.

You're a sick sumbitch.

I hate krispy kreme donuts and I hate bananas. Put the two together and you have what amounts to FredS kryptonite pie.

Takes: Snug Harbor sample that's almost gone, a couple of Russ' aro's that are too good not to keep, a small hit of Pegasus, unopened tins from Drew Estate and Ashton, and a tobacco pouch.
Image

Puts: samples of Night Train, 3P, and Istanbul, unopened tins of Black House and Magnum Opus, 3 cigars, and 3 pucks of carnuba wax (that's about 10 lifetimes worth).
Image

It's raining today so I'm not going to the post office. Sorry Johnny Mac. Maybe I'll get out Monday.
