Okay, who voted NO?
Maybe the guy who owns the place and is worried the FDA & ATF will come aknocking if we don't stop calling it a CPS Blend™.

Call it anything else, and use this platform only for informal discussion of home-blending ideas and freely sharing of your favorites. Mmm K?
We can probably work with that without issue. Good input.

Years ago when we tried something like this, Munkey wanted to avoid associating the CPS name with tobacco manufacture. The legal ramifications could be very bad.

I recommend a "Tobacco Fairy" blend instead. I am working on tin art:

I know you're right. If this goes through I'm still going to secretly think of it as CPS Blend. They can modify my behavior but can't get in my head...yet.

I guess I'll be that guy. I wouldn't suggest manufacturing and distributing tobacco.
I am also of the opinion that the Jesuits should be suppressed.

The lawyer often asks himself a similar, but markedly different question. When he offers friendly advice, its rarely followed. The profession is roundly mocked. Maybe it's better to say nothing, then wait for the phone call after you doofs get arrested and then charge y'all "friends" rates for your eventual guilty pleas?

I voted no. I have no interest in it. I thought that's what the question was.

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I think this is still do-able.

When I do taste tests I always share the recipe so the testers can provide feedback for possible adjustment. Like Foggy Bottom for the Signature Series.

TF can put this in it's own line.

Sharing recipe and tasting notes. Like a pie making contest at the County Fair.

Unless the powers that be - coco - UB - higher says, hey. stop it. That's it, it disappears.

I'm not stopping anything. If you want to use the CPS name, I would suggest working things out with Munkey first.

You wanna ask him for me? I was just gonna blow it off and come up with something non CPS specifically identifiable by the unknowing.

Was that lawyer enough? I doubt it but, just checking.

No, I dont think it's my place to do so. I was thinking a little on this, and thought...hmm. A lot of people like the idea, so how do we make it kosher?

Then I thought of Arno over at dutchpipesmoker. He belongs to a European forum that every year puts out a tobacco from Dan Tobacco. They taste and figure out what they like, then do a batch up that everybody purchases.

Then I thought that the fellow that writes those horrendous Emperor Leopoldo stories belongs to the local pipe club. They did up a batch through C&D that came through our store and everybody bought except me because, well, because I really dont like those stories.

Then I thought of the Seattle Pipe Club which does the same things...

What if we worked with C & D or Russ Oullette and came up with a Tobacco Fairy run of a single Mixture and all bought it through C & D or Pipes and Tobaccos? I wonder what the minimum order run would be? If we bit the bullet and made it a virginia-ish flake, well, we could count on some guys here to put down a good amount...

I dunno. Just spitballing. I'd hate to see somebody get hoosegowed over a good idea. I bet we could find a way to do it on the up and up.

I can't remember what the time frame was, but we have been down that exact road. Several people, some of whom are no longer participating in the forum, put forth a LOT of work to make it happen, but it wasn't to be. For all the reasons mentioned by others already and a few others, I'm sure. I imagine the threads around here somewhere. PM might be a good place for more discussion.
