There are many terrible attributes of the lowly cob. Not the least of them is that it makes you look like a doof.

Re: 2020 POY PARTICIPATION
Can you call them daily to check the status of our order and report back to us? Thanks.

Is it no frills fills? What's an extreme case to compare?

Re: 2020 POY PARTICIPATION
Number of participants thus far: 13.
Donated bowls: 4
Grand total: 17
I'll leave this up a couple of more days. I am already discussing the details with our distributor to get an idea of what this will look like. I'll report back when able.

I'll take one, but only if the briar is imported. When do you need the money?

Money will be taken once our distributor gets them. I'll be updating this thread later today, as I've talked with our guy and gotten some more info.

Re: 2020 POY PARTICIPATION
Just want to confirm, I'm reading things correctly. This is just for a falcon bowl...We need to either separately purchase or already own a stem. Correct?

Re: 2020 POY PARTICIPATION
Thoth, are you wanting to participate? I have not received a message and need to know ASAP so I can get a number to our distributor.

Re: 2020 POY PARTICIPATION
UPDATE:
Alright, so I have given a number to our distributor. He has placed an order for the number of bowls specified (20) and ordered a few extra just in case (for his own inventory and if someone jumps on late). Usually, for these types of orders they take a payment to reserve them, but I was able to arrange for us not to pay until he has the bowls in hand, that way if this whole thing falls through it is not a nightmare for me and coco to get the money back to everyone. I asked a few questions regarding a timeline and what not and this is what I got:
"I cannot give a concrete date because we make an order a few times a year and receiving those orders vary based on the amount ordered. There is no issue in the manufacturing, as in Falcon is back to fully churning out bowls and stems at a regular rate as of right now; it is the distribution that lags a little behind. We could have your order in August, or it could be October."
This is is nothing new for those familiar with past years of POYs. We are going to try our damnedest to get these done sooner rather than later, as 2combs only needs a few days to get the engraving done. As with all POY ventures, patience is necessary. When coco and I have to collect money via PayPal, please make the payment ASAP so that we can get the entire order to 2combs, for if we split the shipment up the cost per bowl goes up for everyone. As of right now, none of you have to do anything. I have taken everyone's name who wants to participate down and will be reaching out to those who did not include their information so that I can log those and forward them to coco. As long as I am stateside I will keep in touch with our distributor to see how things are progressing, once I have to leave coco will take over the logistics and what not.
So... we wait.
Good day.
