McClelland 40th Aniversary Red Virginia Flake in the large bent JoeGoat Scoop II. Really enjoyed it. Such an amazing blend. Perhaps McClelland's highest achievement

I knew someone would ask that. No, that's just a pic I googled with an Aurora tin.

3 year aged Cornell & Diehl - Chenet's Cake (Burley, Perique, Virginia) that sounded like a soda can when I cracked the swollen tin. 1st time smoking this blend in the large, bent JoeGoat Scoop II. This is not the Perique bomb many say it is. It's quite good.

Named after Pierre Chenet, the French Louisianna farmer credited with discovering the process of making Perique. But it is my understanding the Native Americans in that area were making something akin to Perique long before Chenet

No, the avatar isn't me, either. But I like it and aspire to it.

Haunted Bookshop in rgcurrey's old Comoy's lovat. I think this is the first time I smoked something that doesn't contain latakia in this pipe.
Imagine you could still taste it though.
Yeah, that's a good ghost right there.
It was good. Didn't detract from my enjoyment of the smoke at all. If I were into tinkering with home blending, and at this point I am not, I might be inclined to get some blending latakia and put a small amount into some Haunted Bookshop. I'm no Gary Pease, but I'm thinking somewhere in the 5-10% range might make for an interesting blend.
I tend to find the doctrinal books often more helpful in devotion than the devotional books.... I believe that many who find that "nothing happens" when they sit down, or kneel down, to a book of devotion, would find that the heart sings unbidden while they are working their way through a rough bit of theology with a pipe in their teeth and a pencil in their hand.

Started a bowl of Ashton Artisan's Blend in one of my Peterson 68's while out running errands at lunchtime. Will have to finish it later, as management has chosen to not adopt my suggestion regarding the adoption of a smoking section to comprised of a roaming 6-foot radius of wherever I happen to be located.

Thoughts & prayers, please. :signofcross:
