Hey, man.

Tell me what you think of this. I haven't nabbed a tin yet.

I like their Carolina VA but, that's more on the lemon orange side.

I'm pretty sure they sold out of Carolina Red Flake the same day it went on sale.

I tend to find the doctrinal books often more helpful in devotion than the devotional books.... I believe that many who find that "nothing happens" when they sit down, or kneel down, to a book of devotion, would find that the heart sings unbidden while they are working their way through a rough bit of theology with a pipe in their teeth and a pencil in their hand.

I'm just now into my 4th bowl. It is rich & very sweet and has tanginess, but no lemon that I can pick up on. It won't bite, either. Leaves a nice aftertaste in the mouth, but I find that it doesn't like re-lighting. Affects the flavor for quite a while afterward. Some compare this to McCl 40th Anniversary (which, God be thanked, I have quite a bit of) but I feel 40th has more depth/ complexity. This is good tobacco, though. Best blend from C&D I've ever had. And it's a straight Red Virginia. Maybe from the same region from which McClelland used to find their red Virginias.

As popular as this is, I am sure C&D will run another batch of this. Only 2400 were tinned.

C&D blends tend to benefit from some age...they can them quick. I let C&D tins sit at least 6 month before I open them...that might give this blend the depth you are looking for.
