Made it home...

Post by JMG » Wed Mar 25, 2020 1:29 pm

This was my FB status today: We made it home to Mississippi yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon. We can't thank everyone enough for the prayers and encouragement throughout all of this. It was an "adventure" getting back, and knowing that we were constantly being taken before the throne of God in prayer means the absolute world to us.

Unfortunately, none of our luggage made it home. If I had to guess, I think it's probably in Singapore. We probably won't know anything for a few weeks until countries begin opening their borders. Please pray that it will all find their way home to us as our daughters (and Jessi and I) had some very sentimental items in there. Clothes can be replaced, but some of our things simply can not.

Please also be praying over the coming weeks for our daughters. When they were little we were able to shield them from a lot of difficult and scary things that are just a part of living overseas like we do. However, now that thy are older they were very aware of the severity of the dilemma we were in. Between that and this very abrupt transition, I know adjusting to being home will be a hard thing for them.

Again, thank you all so very much for your encouragement which has been shown to us in so many ways. We will never be able to adequately express how much it has meant/means to us.

There is much more to tell as getting home was an absolute nightmare. We were literally 30 minutes away from sitting in an immigration holding cell in Singapore when our tickets finally came through. We had to sprint across the airport to get on the plane before midnight.

Pray for all of us as I'm sure it will take a bit for all of us to simmer down a bit. But for now we are simply praising God for getting us home. Pray for those left behind.

Once my wife writes out this "coming home" story, I'll put it here. Currently my brain is too fried to put it all on paper. I'm still feeling like the boogie man is going to jump out from behind a corner and grab me.

So glad you are home. Dude, you and Mrs. JMG should write a book when y'all are fully restored and recovered and settled down. Heck the girls could write a childrens book. I'd buy both of them. Who needs to watch netflix adventure/action movies when you have JMG and family as friends. I repeat, I am so glad and I'm thankful to the Lord that you guys are home and safe. Respect to both you and Mrs. JMG for getting those girls home safe.
