I can certainly see why this is a favorite picture, with a pipe.
It makes smile.

That’s about as accurate as saying Chevrolet is a Cadillac affiliate. Sub-brand, eh? Better than saying second, I suppose.

Parkers are popular for the smoker who can't afford to drive a Dunhill. As well made as a Dunhill as far as I can see.

On a side note...When I returned to the hobby about 12 years ago, I was at an antique mall looking for shaving stuff and tobacco stuff and I found an estate pipe that looked nice. It was a billiard and stamped "Parker", it looked like it had only been lightly used. They wanted $10. I passed and when I got home I tried to find the Parker brand on the internet...needless to say I was very interested after I found out they were a division of Dunhill, I sped back the next day to buy the pipe...it was gone

I'd bet there is a big difference in the stem work and bit on a Parker compared to a Dunhill of the same era since "seconds" were thrown out early on.

A Michal Novak, Czech Republic artisan pipe. He sure had one very nice piece of plateau briar there with dense, very fine vertical grain.
