Perhaps it is time to reorganize BRATASS and assemble a modern BRATASS POLICE (BRUTALITY) FORCE and start sending cOBunists to the gulags once more!

The Little Devil Anse MM pipes are nice. Just recently got one and I’m shocked how much I liked it. They also look a little more “classy” with the dark stain.
"Classy" and "Cob"?!? There are two words that have never been strung together before.

I'm sure you have to beat the ladies off with a stick when smoking your cob in public. Paint a silver stripe around the stem and you'd have a full dress pipe ready for a night at the opera.

I just got one lady to worry about and she can’t keep her hands off me Image. It has a Daniel Day Lewis class about it. Even in a rough setting he has a certain level about him.

Right now the Blackhawks are up 1-0 over the Leafs and I am having McCl 2010 w. 14% added Latakia. I like this mix. And it sings in my solo cob.

It’s the new MM Devils Anise sort of shape. The stem on it is far better than other MM’s i’ve Had in the past.

Denis likes cobs too. Just sayin’

Enjoy your cob, mate.
A cob is not a bad smoke at all. I have a couple custom ones w/ hard wood shanks and acrylic bits that a friend made for me. Plenty of the regular ones too. Pros and cons all pretty well listed here. As well as cobs and aspirins work, it's surprising they're both not a lot more expensive.

Me too. I've been burning McCl 2010 w. some added latakia in mine and it sings.

In the shed or in the back yard on doggie doodie duty, works great.

Self hating countrymen are the worst. Roadie and I are proud sons of the good earth that birthed this nation, and a cob, made of the maize that is our national fruit, ornaments our faces rather than degrades them.

Lol. This subject has always made me smile. I've seen some get fired up, but I can't for the life of me understand why. It's a five dollar pipe, for cripes sake. Who cares?

After some more research. I'm thinking about easing back from a cob.

I've never owned a bulldog shaped pipe. (I saw the Bulldog thread) I'm thinking that it is close second to the classic straight billiard.

There are many terrible attributed to the lowly cOB I will name only a few.

First issue, taste of the burning wood stem.
Second issue, taste of burning epoxy.
Third issue, taste of the burning/charred corn bowl.
Fourth issue, cheap, crappy, uncomfortable bits that easily break.
Fifth issue, bits that become either too loose or too tight.
Sixth issue, a pipe cleaner is almost impossible to use on those crap 'pinched' bent stems.
Seventh issue, the MAJOR condensation build up on the inferior stems.
Eighth issue, the bowls are way too small.
Ninth issue, the ugliness
Tenth issue, the rust that builds up on the stem/stummel connection.
Eleventh issue, no matter how "broke-in" it is, it still imparts a burnt corn flavor.
Twelfth issue, there is plaster in the bottom of the bowl.
Issue #13.. It's a Hillbilly souvenir/toy, not a real pipe.
Issue #14, I dont care who you are, you look funny while 'smoking' a cob.

So, I got to wondering, if a cob style pipe were to be built with a Briar bowl (or clay, meer, etc.) but came with a glued in wooden stem that was set into a bed of plaster, and if this so-called pipe imparted a charred/burnt taste, and used cheap inferior bits that were either too loose or too tight, it most certainly would be deemed a joke. But hey, put a piece of dried corn cob on the end and people think its the greatest thing ever ? ???

As Rusty pointed out, for COB lovers it is not entirely in jest.
