I just bought this Rossi and have looked at the savinelli shape chart. I couldn’t nail down which shape this is. Any idea?

I'd call it a Lumberman.

That's a really nice shape by the way. I'm fond of the flat sides on the shank & stem.

The quality of a Rossi for the price is second to none.

I think Lumberman is about as close as you're going to get. It's more like a Lovat, but the bowl is all wrong for it to be that.

and the shank--cannot be a lovat with a flat/oval shank.

if it is a long shank, then it is supposed to be one of four:
oval shank, saddle bit=lumberman
oval shank, tapered stem=canadian
round shank, saddle bit=lovat
round shank, tapered stem=liverpool

but you already knew that (the real question is, whether it is a long shank or not--traditionally, about twice as long as the bowl is high, but tradition/schmadition)

I like it, it would be a good mate to the Teipen POY Lovat

Lumberman rolls of the tongue better than 'flat sided oval shank saddle billiard".

perhaps it should be coined a new shape name: the lumberjack, and that's OK. (kind of sings, don't it?)
